Youth 180
Youth 180 provides a deliberate, strengths-based and tailored service to support adolescents who are under Guardianship orders. We assist young people to make the move into their community, equipped with independent living skills and confidence for the future.
As a team, we uphold a positive, collaborative and respectful approach and place value on the individual. Through good relationships, and with understanding and acceptance, we seek to encourage the young person’s sense of self-worth and dignity.
Youth 180 provides accommodation for young people under Guardianship aged 14–18 who are motivated to develop independent living skills. The young person is allocated a case worker to coordinate their placement, and is matched to youth carers who support the adolescent for the duration of the placement. As well as the focus on independent living skills, Youth 180 also has a holistic view of young people and seeks to support and respond to the whole person.
In partnership with Families SA and Youth 180 youth carers, young people are assisted and encouraged to develop skills and gain confidence across the following independent living skill domains: • Self Care • Communication • Social Relationships • Education & Training • Career Planning • Home Life and Daily Living • Household and Money Management
