West Works is a self funding community enterprise that exists to create opportunities for people in the community to gain work skills, training and demonstrated work experience — ultimately, helping them to gain paid employment.
West Works over a dozen different positions, and these are filled by Volunteers, Work for the Dole clients, Work Cover workers in the process of rehabilitation, and paid workers.
West Works is an appropriate stepping stone for people wishing to return to work in a caring and supportive environment that provides learning and practical experience to the people involved.
West Works focuses is on care for the environment and recycling while providing cost effective services for the community.
Where we are
West Works is focused on the Playford, Salisbury and Gawler council areas but volunteers who feel they can commit are welcome from other locations.
To work at West Works
Anyone is welcome to volunteer at West Works, as long as we have a suitable volunteer position available.
Work for the Dole and WorkCover workers are referred by other agencies. Other volunteers can apply themselves.
The process
Once you have filled out the Volunteer Application Form, West Works invites you to an orientation session to set up a Police Check and match your interests to available positions. It usually takes a couple of weeks.
